I love, love, love her!

I am a self-confessed style stalker, and Nicole Richie is one of my favourite style icons of all time. I felt like paying tribute to her by putting together a few of my favourite looks. I have to say, Nicole always looks flawless whether she is working out, spending time with her kids or stepping onto the red carpet. She is a fashion risk taker and a trend setter, yet she always stays true to her personal style. And she is a super amazing mum! I love, love, love her! Wishing you all a Happy Anzac Day! Lest we forget... AAA xx

Coachella has wrapped up for another year...sigh. I have to say there were alot of tragic fashion moments this year, but its too early in the morning to focus on the bad and the ugly... so let's focus on the good! Check out my fave celebs below, looking amazing as always, beginning with the spectacular Rosie Huntington-Whitely! Yikes! Why can't we all have legs like that?
I almost fell off my chair when I saw this.
I'm sorry Scarlett Johansson (read: Scary Ho-hansson), I thought this was the London premiere of your new movie The Avengers. Not the premiere of Project Runway The Movie: Little House on the Prairie Edition. And while I have your attention, Sienna Miller called and wants her 2007 Golden Globes braid back immediately. You're officially 'so five years ago'! And do you know what hurts the most about this? This dress is Prada. AND it is a waste of perfectly good peplum. There is nothing hotter than the peplum trend right now (finally!) and this 'dress' is blatant disrespect I tell you. Do yourself a favour Scary, fire your stylist and just wear your floral nylon shower curtain to your next premiere. It's cheaper, and most people won't notice the difference. Now I must go... I need to go have a G&T and watch The Ring, just so I can feel normal again... AAA xx To celebrate the availability of Gold Threads Gift Certificates in time for Mother's Day, I thought I would put together some pics of my favourite stylish celebrity mothers! They make it look so easy don't they? Toting their children along with their designer bags, making motherhood look like an effortless and eternally chic exercise.
I'm proud to be a mumma, and I have to say, it's not an easy job. Looking as good as these celebs is a difficult feat, especially thanks to sleepless nights and general clingy-ness. But what I always manage to do is make time for myself, even if it means getting up a little earlier in the morning. I believe that in order to do a good job taking care of G, I need to take care of myself, beginning with how I look and how that makes me feel. And I think that's important for all mothers, no matter what age! The subject of our very first Gold Streets is the very lovely Jade (age 21), wearing a Zimmerman jumpsuit, Louis Vuitton clutch and jewellery and Novo shoes! This PYT actually works for the Royal Australian Navy as an Able Seaman, and I personally think thats wonderful! The only problem I have is that she has to wear a boring uniform to work everyday instead of dressing like this!
Thanks for being a great sport Jade, and I hope you and Natalie had a fabulous night! (Apologies if you could hear our table from the other side of the restaurant!) Happy Sunday peeps! AAA xx Did anyone else see this pic of Eva Longoria looking sensational in a pair of tan leather shorts this week? The more I see of this trend the more I want to skin a cow myself for a pair of my very own! (Ew, right?!) Seriously... this is one hot trend for autumn and throughout winter (and something that I'm predicting will pop up again for spring) - team up with a casual knit, a lace top or a tailored blazer. I'm contemplating some lace tights as the weather gets colder too.
Check out some of my other Hollywood faves rockin' this trend below, from day to night, including my all time girl crush Rosie Huntington-Whitely! I need a pair, I need a pair now! AAA xx If you only buy one book this year, then make sure it's Chanel: The Vocabulary of Style (Jerome Gautier, Yale University Press). I have quite a collection of books, and although I don't normally like to play favourites, this one in particular is special to me. It is essentially a celebration of fashion photography, dating back to the early 1930's. The subjects? The many celebrities, muses and models, who have adorned the exquisite pieces from the house of Chanel. And not to mention, the extraordinary Gabrielle Chanel herself. The photographers? Modern icons such as Gilles Bensimon, Richard Avedon, Mario Testino and Patrick Demarchelier.
This book eminates the very essence of the Chanel label, and the woman behind it all. It is proof that great style, can transcend almost a 100 years. Hello there,

Thanks again to everyone for the 'Likes' and the love! Mwa! AAA xx Believe it or not, before the Art of Elysium gala in January of this year, I had not even heard of Amber Heard. But its hard not to notice a celebrity when they show up on a red carpet looking like this. Now, I don't know whether it was the perfect hair, red lips or showstopping Donna Karan gown, but ever since I saw Amber Heard, I've become obsessed. Even thought of dying my hair blonde. Dubbed the Sharon Stone of our generation, its hard not to appreciate this gorgeous blonde bombshell.
Are you in the mood for a mood board? I'm a visual person, so I find the best way to express my personal style and taste is through pictures. When designing the Gold Threads logo, my fabulous designer Katie and her brilliant Team Scope, put together a mood board for my brand which they drew their own inspiration from. It was a fabulous digital board of course, which I still look at each day, because I can't believe how right they got it! I think I even remember telling Katie, 'it's like your inside my brain!'
Back at Gold Threads headquarters, I was working on a mood board of my very own. (Except mine was on a good ol' fashioned cork board that I picked up from the Reject Shop for $7.) It was a collection of images that have inspired me over the years from old magazines that I will never part with. And although it might not make sense to anyone else, it really speaks to me. So if anyone would like to know what the inside of my brain looks like, check out my mood board below... AAA xx |
