My all time favourite style icon - Anna Dello Russo. Aka Editor-at-large at VOGUE Japan, for those of you not familiar. Every time I see a new picture of her, I just think 'BAM!' - she is just truly too amazing for words! If I could organise anyone's wardrobe - it would be ADR's!
And we're so alike: eccentric, daring and share an appreciation for monogramming. We could totally be friends! I can just see it now... AAA: hey Anna! ADR: hey Anna! AAA: how good is monogramming? ADR: pretty good. Ahem... So here are my all time favourite looks from the second greatest Anna to ever live! AAA xx Loving this snap of Kate Moss and Marc Jacobs at the launch party of her new book in London. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy!

I'm very excited to be showcasing my all time favourite style icons this week. These are the women who I draw my own style inspiration from. They are the fearless, eccentric and iconic women who are today's major influences on fashion as we know it.
First up is Miroslava Duma - a Russian fashion editor and mastermind behind the online magazine 'Buro247'. Mira is always styled head to toe by the greats such as Balenciaga, Chanel and Lanvin to name a few. If I could swap wardrobes with anyone in the world, it would be Miroslava Duma. (There I said it. Now you know). Stay tuned for more... AAA xx Miranda Kerr - mummy street style at its best.
Happy Saturday! AAA xx For more Miranda Kerr street style check out: http://www.goldthreads.com.au/1/post/2012/07/street-style-miranda-kerr.html Metallics, sequins and bold hues - here is a taste of celebrity style at this years AMA's. I have to say I am lah-ving Nicky Minaj in the strapless chartreuse - divine! AAA xx If you're like me, you're already planning your summer getaways - airfares, hotels and the like. But are you ready for what most people consider the most tedious chore of all? Packing! Now packing isn't a problem for me - I salivate at the thought of folding, piling and zipping. Bit of a freak really, but I guess you've started to catch onto that. I thought I would spread my love of packing, with some tips to help you prepare for your long awaited, summer vacay.
Plan it - Once you've decided which of your pieces are going on holidays with you, lay them out, make sure they work and that you can mix and match. You dont have to pack a head to toe look for each day. You're not Lady Gaga, its gonna be ok. For example, packing two tops, a pair of shorts and a skirt will give you four different looks. Happy days! Accessories - Keep it simple. Take pieces that you can reuse with a different outfits. For example, a straw fedora would go with most summer outfits and are appropiate poolside, or when you're out and about. When packing jewellery, choose neutral colours and versatile styles that compliment your everyday looks. You don't need to pack a necklace for each day. Flatwear - Be comfy, baby - you're on vacay! Unless you're travelling for a cocktail event, its ok to live in gorgeous summer sandals and ballet flats. They are easy to pack and are versatile for most summer outfits. An embellished sandal and printed maxi dress for dinner would be gorj. Sunscreen - some of us need to be told. Ahem. Frocks - I'm a lover of dresses - especially on holidays. Slip one on and you're out the door. No time for matchy-matchy when there's tanning to be done! Dresses are always chic, summery and are easy to accessorise. Most go from poolside to dinner, so why not pack a few? Beach outerwear - I'm going to tell you what I tell all of my clients - think fabulous! It's ok to get dressed up for the pool. I'm not talking full hair and make up and Louboutins. I'm merely suggesting that an embellished kaftan over your bikini, an 'of-the-moment' necklace and a metallic sandal never killed anyone. (Well not anyone I know!) Denim shorts are great for trekking through Surfers looking for a bacon and egg roll after a big night. There I said it. A long sleeve - for the odd cold night! Product - You don't have to skimp here. I am a firm believer of travelling with your own skincare, haircare and cosmetic products. I'm not a fan of the complimentary toiletries, even in 5-star resorts. I can't leave home without my beauty essentials. So the only advice I would give is to take travel sized portions of your faves where you can. Rule of thumb: if you need it, pack it! Entertainment - a great book, your ipod and of course a camera. You don't have to completely switch off on hols, and its always nice to have chill time if you get the odd rainy day. Coathangers - Duh! And don't even sit there like you're shocked that I've suggested this. Not all hotels and resorts provide coathangers. So be prepared to hang up your special pieces. The last think you want is a crinkly kaftan while your poolside getting your margaritas on. Ok that't it from me, have a wonderful time, you deserve it! AAA xx Let's be real. We all know what this election is really about. It's not about voting for the candidate with best policies on healthcare, warfare or education. It's not a competition about who has the most 'binders full of women'. It's about voting for the guy with the best dressed wife. Because let's face it, behind every mildy talented man, is an amazingly fashionable mammacita dressed in Jason Wu. She's the lady who's really gonna win this for you, buddy - so just keep smiling for the cameras and kissing babies, and leave the real job to the big girls.
So what I'm saying is that it's really between Michelle Obama and that other guys wife, what's her name something. I think that we'll probably see Michelle...er, I mean, Barrack Obama in the oval office for another four years. Let's take a look at the evidence, shall we? AAA xx |
