Shall we begin?
Step 1: Divide and conquer
Literally take everything out of your wardrobe and separate your clothes into the following six groups – it’s time to detox:
• Items to keep
• Items to clean
• Items to tailor
• Items to donate
• Items to sell
• Items to toss
Step 2: Make some noise
Get your vacuum cleaner out for some major sucking action. Nothing like a freshly dusted wardrobe. Rule of thumb — if you wouldn’t eat dinner off your wardrobe shelves then they are not worthy of your clothes and accessories!
Step 3: Choose a pleasant aroma
I strongly recommend adding a subtle fragrance to your space, whether it be your favourite scented candle, diffuser or some good old Mr Sheen Potpourri. Nothing is more welcoming than a freshly scented wardrobe. Well maybe a cuddle from nan, but you get what I’m saying…
Step 4: Rotate and pack
It’s time to rotate your winter items for your summer pieces. Box up your boots, fold your trackies and bag up your coats for next year. Store over head, underneath or remove completely. Keep only your summer items to make it easier to sift through your favourite pieces during social season.
Step 5: Pack it all away
Now that your wardrobe is sparkly clean and you have removed all unwanted items, it’s time to pack it all away. I recommend using my seven steps for boutiquifying your wardrobe as a guide for decorating and organising your fresh,
new space!
Now go forth and clean - trust me, you'll feel better once it's done!
Big love,
AAA xx
